Chocolate Covered Peeps

Another idea from pinterest... Chocolate covered peeps!!
Tanner and I decided to make these and give one to each of his class mates.  He really enjoyed making them!
Another idea from pinterest that I tried was to put the peeps in an egg carton to cool, but it didn't work so well.  They were top heavy and didn't stand nice for me, plus it was hard for Tanner to put the sprinkles on.  So I just laid them in a pan lined with wax paper and then Tanner could easily put the sprinkles on.
 How cute are they?

And he still has the Easter bunny basket his granny made like 3 years ago!  He chose to take them to school in it.

Mackenzie's New Toy

I found this idea on pinterest too!  Mackenzie just loves it!  The one on pinterest they decorated the wipe container by covering it with cute fabric and they also put letters and numbers on the pieces of fabric, but I didn't do that.  I just cut 22 rectangles about the size of a DVD case and I zig zagged stitched the ends so it won't fray.  I used a terry cloth piece and a flannel piece so she'd have some different textures too.  I fold them so that they come out like wipes or tissues do.  She just loves it!!!  She goes crazy when I take them to re-fold all the pieces, she can't wait to do it again!
Sometimes someone needs to hold down the container because she'll put it up when she pulls the piece of fabric out.

Flowers for Teacher

When I was growing up I remember my mom picking daffodils, wrapping them in a wet paper towel then putting foil around it and I'd take them to my teachers.  I had seen this idea on pinterest for wrapping yarn around a glass bottle to make a vase.  So I had Jayden make one and then he took daffodils to his teacher.  I wanted him to do it for the first day of spring, but we just didn't have time to make the vase, so we ended up doing for his show and tell when he was supposed to bring something in about spring.

More 9 Month Pictures

I really wanted a cute picture of Mackenzie in the tutu that I made for her 9 month pictures.  I didn't like the other ones so I tried again.  These are better but I'm not too crazy about them.  Oh well, at least I have some 9 months pictures.
What do you think of them?
Mackenzie wouldn't keep her pearl bracelet on, she just wanted to chew on it.

She also wouldn't keep her headband on.  I tried giving her flowers to hold so she wouldn't pull it off, but it didn't always help.

She has such a cute smile but of course she wouldn't do it when I had her in the tutu.
I'm not sure if I posted the picture of the ballet slippers I also made, but never put on her.  I thought the toes looked cuter, that is when you could see her feet.

Failed Photo Shoot Attempt

I made this "pettiskirt" for Mackenzie for her 9 month pictures. I found the pattern online and decided to make it instead of the no sew tu-tu I had originally planned on doing. They said to use nylon chiffon, it's softer and lays flatter and doesn't fray like regular chiffon does, apparently.  Well, you can only order it online and I didn't have time for that so I used Tulle.  And I'd have to say it is quiet puffy with the tulle!  I use just over 5 yards!  They say 3 is good enough but if you want it puffier use more.  I used all they had left on the bolt.  Wow, it took quiet some time to ruffle all of this tulle!!!!  But how cute is it?
Mackenzie was not so cooperative for me for the pictures and I was so bummed!  These were the only good ones...
When we went outside she just wanted to eat the leaves.  And boys she was so mad at me when I took them away!!!!

So I tried later when Daddy came home from work.  She normally smiles so good for daddy!  But she just wanted to take her head band off and her bracelet.

Uggh, it was a little frustrating so we just stopped. I just wanted a smile like she did in the morning before I put her in all this cuteness!!
I had also made cute little ballet slippers to go with the skirt, but you couldn't see them under all the fluff.

Mackenzie is 9 Months!

My sweet little princess is 9 months old!!!!  I cannot believe it!!!!!!
I snapped this pictures in the morning before I took Tanner to preschool.  I wish that pink onesie underneath wasn't so noticeable... oh well.  This is what I really wanted her in for her 9 month pictures anyway.  But it turned out that this was the only time she smiled so cute!!!!!

She is so cute with Tanner!!!  She just adores her big brother!!!  Every time he comes near she squeals with delight, laughs, smiles and jumps up and down.  It's so cute to watch!!!!
She totally did this all on her own when Tanner jumped in the picture with her...

She reached up for him and gave him a great big kiss!!!!  So darn cute!!!!!
