Rockets!

Here are the builders with the Rocket Launcher and their rockets...
The boys picked out their own colors for their rockets and they love them!

Here they are launching their rockets...
Below JJ is in the air as he jumps on the rocket launcher.  He's trying to hit me with his rocket and this may be the one where he got me in the shoulder.

Does it look like they love their rockets?

The original directions say to use a soda bottle, which we did.  However after taking these pictures we changed it.  It was hard for the boys to blow the bottle back up.  We have to 2 exercise balls that came with foot pumps.  Dave took one of those foot pumps and put that their instead and it works much nicer because the boys don't have to blow it back up.

Building the Rocket Launcher

In the Family Fun  magazine this month they have a build your own rocket and launcher.  JJ played with one of these at the father-son camp out 2 years ago and then Pappy bought one for the boys to play with when they come over.  So I know he loves these rockets.  And he loves to build with his daddy.  So this was perfect!!!
They had to cut the PVC pipe, so here they are doing that...

It doesn't take long to do this, but that is all they got done on this day.  And it may have been that someone wasn't behaving and that was why that was all they did.

Banana Split Ice Cream Cake

We had some very special people coming over for their birthdays and they requested an ice cream cake.  It just happened after I got their request I was surfing through some craft blogs and came across an easy recipe for banana split ice cream cake.  I was so excited!  It's super easy.  This is all you need...
You open all 12 ice cream sandwiches and lay them on the bottom of a 9x13 pan.  Slice the bananas and put them on top.  The use 1/2-1 cup of Hot Fudge and Carmel (each) and put on top.  Then layer the sliced strawberries.  Mix a small can of crushed pineapple including the juice with a container of whipped topping.  and then put that mixture on top.  Sprinkle a crushed butterfinger or heath bits on top.  And freeze for at least 4 hours.  and wa-la....

A very yummy ice cream cake!!!
Just a tip, leave it sit for a few minutes so you can actually bite into it.  I don't know about you, but I don't like my strawberries to be totally frozen, just a little.
